PRS SILVER SKY JOHN MAYER SIGNATURE FROST GIGBAG

PRS SILVER SKY JOHN MAYER SIGNATURE FROST GIGBAG

“It’s been a dream of mine for years to design a guitar that includes some of my favorite vintage specifications but with a modern spirit and aesthetic. After two years of study and refinement, the Silver Sky is my vision of what a reboot of the electric guitar should look and feel like.” – John Mayer The PRS Silver Sky is the result of a close collaboration between Grammy Award-winning musician John Mayer and Paul Reed Smith. More than two and half years in the making, the Silver Sky is a vintage-inspired instrument that is at once familiar but also newly PRS through and through. This model was based off of Mayer and Smith’s favorite elements from 1963 and 1964 vintage instruments, resulting in an idealized version of a vintage single-coil guitar. The attention that was paid to every detail sets this guitar apart. Some of the more distinctive specifications include, the headstock shape, tuners, neck and fretboard, bridge, and pickups and electronics. The headstock shape is based on PRS’s trademark design, but inverted to both accommodate Mayer’s playing style and also to keep a consistent length of string behind the nut, which makes staying in tune easier. The tuners are a traditional vintage-style, closed-back tuner, but with PRS’s locking design. The neck shape was modeled after 1963/1964 vintage instruments, and the fretboard has a 7.25” radius. The moment your hand grabs this neck, it just feels right. Like the tuners, the steel tremolo takes a classic design and incorporates PRS’s trem arm and Gen III knife-edge screws. The bridge on the Silver Sky is setup flush to the body in the neutral position so that the tremolo bridge only goes down in pitch. By keeping the bridge in contact with the body, the guitar itself is acoustically louder, which improves the signal to noise ratio of the single-coil pickups. The 635JM single-coil pickups are very round and full, with a musical high end that is never “ice-picky” or brash. Other high-quality specifications include a bone nut, a molded metal jack plate that is curved and makes plugging and unplugging a guitar cable hassle-free, retooled knobs, fretwire that is slightly smaller than what you’d find on most PRS electric guitars, and PRS’s double action truss rod (accessible from the front of the headstock for ease of use). The Silver Sky comes in four colors with distinctive accents on PRS’s trademark lower horn scoop. The PRS Silver Sky will start shipping on March 20, 2018. The first 500 guitars to ship to dealers and distributors worldwide from PRS Guitars’ Maryland, USA factory will include a commemorative hardshell case. The Silver Sky model will then ship in a newly-designed, premium gig bag.

VINTAGE GUITARS V6MRTBG THOMAS BLUG SIGNATURE

VINTAGE GUITARS V6MRTBG THOMAS BLUG SIGNATURE

VINTAGE V6MRTBG THOMAS BLUG SIGNATURE PVP: 648 € PRECIO: 585 € Vintage White Distressed Body: Alder Neck: Hard Maple – Bolt On Fingerboard: 7 1/4" Rosewood Frets: 21 Tuners: Wilkinson® Deluxe WJ55D EZ-Lok™ Vibrato: Wilkinson® WVCD Scale: 25.5"/648mm Pickups: Wilkinson® single coil x 3 aged ivory (N) WVS (M) WVSM rw/rp(B) WHCC (Back tone push/push hum-cancelling extra coil) Controls: 1 Volume, 2 Tone, 5-Way Selector Scratchplate: 3-ply distressed Hardware: Nickel Over recent years, many guitar enthusiasts have admired the virtuosic electric guitar style of Thomas Blug, one of Europe’s most respected players. In addition, Thomas’ work as a product development consultant and product demonstrator for Hughes & Kettner guitar amplification means he is a regular must-see feature at music expos and shows worldwide, alongside his own sought-after CD releases and tuition DVDs, as well as performances with the Thomas Blug Band which includes keyboardist Thijs Van Leer, erstwhile mainstay of Dutch rock legends, Focus. Thomas has one of the most recognisable guitar sounds in the world, playing with a fluid, melodic and powerful style, and has over the years, become synonymous with his much-loved and instantly recognisable electric guitar, a well-used faded Olympic White ‘61. As a player who has been the inspiration to thousands of players, Thomas chose Trev Wilkinson, and UK guitar brand Vintage®, to prove the point that it is possible to create in a signature guitar an instrument which faithfully recreates the unique attributes of his beloved white ‘61. With its battle-scarred body, custom electronics and personalised switching all added to the already exceptionally well-specc’d Vintage® ReIssued Series™ V6 guitar, players looking for an edge with this iconic design, and who also perhaps aspire to emulate Thomas’ spine- tingling sound, can now buy exactly the same instrument which he uses in his day-to-day work. “Outstanding”, comments Thomas on his Vintage V6 Signature Model, which we’ve all come to refer to as the “ElastaPlastaBlugaCasta” in reference to the first ever sample the Vintage team showed me 4 years ago, with the brand name covered by a Band-Aid®. “To achieve all this, in an instrument which literally anyone can afford, even a first time buyer, is an unbelievable achievement. Working closely with Trev Wilkinson to translate every subtle part of my guitar has been a labour of love.” “Working with the Vintage® team has proven that there are still people in the commercial side of our business who are total ‘guitar heads’ and who really do care about producing honest instruments without compromise,” continues Thomas. “Getting the best guitars into players’ hands without emptying their wallets and bank accounts! Quite amazing.”
